The Association of Ligerian Floating Markets and the Saumur Val de Loire Tourist Office are delighted to announce the return of their flagship event: The SAUMUR LOIRE FESTIVAL, which will take over the quays of Saumur from the 13th to the 15th September 2024.
The Loire Saumuroise will be transformed into a true paradise for boat lovers and all those who wish to discover the magic of the Loire inland navigation.
After the resounding success of the first edition, the Saumur Loire Festival promises an even richer and more immersive experience this year.
Celebration of River Traditions
The Saumur Loire Festival is an ode to the Loire richness of the region. This event highlights the history of traditional Loire boats, true floating jewels which have marked the waterways of France. Visitors will have the opportunity to sail aboard these boats steeped in history, thus discovering the Loire and the City of Saumur from a new angle.
Village Marine de Loire
The Loire Marine Village will be the beating heart of the event highlighting local craftsmanship, traditional know-how and trades linked to river navigation.
Huge tavern on the banks of the Loire
To add to the festive atmosphere, a Loire tavern will be set up on the quays of Saumur (below the Town Hall) offering festival-goers a friendly space to savor local specialties, dance to the sound of live music and enjoy the warm atmosphere on the banks of the Loire.
Daytime and nighttime entertainment
The festival will be punctuated by a multitude of activities transforming the quays and the Loire into a vibrant place of activity.
The evenings of Friday & Saturday will vibrate to the rhythm of fiery concerts, including the exceptional performance of the Saumur group Ruda Salska on Saturday evening. A musical experience combining the energy of ska with the magic of the banks of the Loire.
