We’re not perfect, so we put all our energy into thinking and acting for “the days after”.
If you’ve come to us, it’s because you, like us, are sensitive to nature and ecology.
Since our arrival at Le Petit Hureau in 2020, we have been committed to an eco-responsible approach on a daily basis. Ecology and respect for the environment are values that are close to our hearts and that we want to share.
Our ambition is to reduce as far as possible the negative impact of our activity on nature, in order to contribute, in our small way, to preserving the planet for future generations.
To make our commitment even more concrete, this year we are signing up to the ” Green Key ” label (an international label for sustainable tourism). Our Castel is a building from the XVᵉ century, so it’s a big challenge, but we are confident!
Our CSR charter

- Recycle and sort everything that can be recycled.
- Return to the earth and compost our vegetable waste.
- Increase the number of melliferous plants in our garden.

- Install nesting boxes and bird feeders.
Eco gestures for all
Waste- Don’t forget to sort your rubbish.
- Leave your batteries at reception.
- One tonne of recycled paper keeps more than 16 trees standing, but the dustbin in your room will welcome your papers, packaging, cans with the feeling of duty done 😉
- In the Gîte du Jardin, think of composting peelings, food scraps: the little green bin as well as our plants are fond of it!
- Turn off unnecessary lights.
- Unplug your computers and chargers when not in use.
- Your room has multiple sockets with an on/off button. Leave it off if you don’t need it.
- Close the windows when you leave your room.
- Turn off the room heating on the day of your departure.
- Don’t let the water run for … nothing 😉
- Did you know that in the shower, turning off the water during soaping saves almost 30 litres of water!
- Eat local! So many good things await you: cheeses, Galipettes, Fouées and other Anjou specialities, wines…
- Enjoy your taste buds with seasonal fruit and vegetables! Our market stalls are full of them.
- Discover the local events and tours too: we’ll be happy to advise you. The tourist office is also full of suggestions.
Green transport
Get on your bike and discover the loireavelo.fr cycle route that passes just across the road from us or lavelofrancette.com nearby. We have been awarded the loireavelo.fr and francevelotourisme.com/accueil-velo labels and offer our cycling guests the warmest of welcomes: relaxing in our garden lounges, table d’hôtes, preparation of picnic baskets. We have two bikes to lend; otherwise, there is a bike hire and repair shops not far.
